EPL: Bernd Leno reveals why Arsenal played 1-1 with Wolves

Arsenal goalkeeper, Bernd Leno has explained why his side played 1-1 draw with Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday.
Ivan Cavaleiro’s first half goal put the visitors in front before midfielder, Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s late strike in the second half ensured Unai Emery’s side got a point at the Emirates Stadium.
Leno said the Gunners drew with Wolves because Arsenal’s players did not play well during the first half of the encounter.
“It was a hard game for us, in the first half we didn’t play our best and in the second half we had many chances and Wolverhampton had some chances as well,” Leno told the BBC.
“They were very deep and had fast players for the counter attack so it was very difficult for us.
“It was a difficult start because we conceded so it was easier for Wolverhampton to defend and they played on the counter so it was more difficult.”
Leno added: “I think that is just a statistic, we wanted to win, we just drew and it is a disappointment. It’s most important for us to win the next game.
“I think there was an injured player, he was on the floor for two or three minutes so maybe we could have got a few extra minutes but that was not the problem today.”
