Liverpool’s players were able to take time out from their preparations for the busy festive period to spread some Christmas cheer to children at Alder Hey hospital.
The likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and club captain Jordan Henderson took an afternoon out on Wednesday to put a smile on the young faces at the children’s hospital.
The team – with manager Jurgen Klopp in tow – donned Santa hats and posed for a number of pictures with the kids after finishing their morning training session at Melwood.
To make sure as many of the young fans got their chance to see the squad, the players split up into groups to make their way around the hospital, signing autographs and talking to patients and their families.
The likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Fabinho and Andy Robertson were also present as they gave out some gifts to the children during their visit.
Salah, who has scored four goals in two games, was also pictured holding a baby while Klopp posed with an Everton fan.
Henderson, Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum spent their time on the visit painting paper plates with some young fans.
The visit comes ahead of one of the biggest games of the season as the Reds prepare for the visit of Manchester United to Anfield on Sunday.
Klopp's team will be buoyed by the narrow 1-0 win over Napoli in midweek that saw them progress to the Champions League knockout stages.
It has been a memorable seven days for the club as they also overtook Manchester City at the top of the Premier League last Saturday.
A 4-0 win over Bournemouth, which included a hat-trick from Mohamed Salah, came before City lost 2-0 at Chelsea, giving Liverpool a one-point lead at the summit.
