Mesut Ozil and Arsenal team mates train at soaking London Colney ahead of Leicester clash... as manager Unai Emery joins in to make up the numbers
As the international break draws to a close, attention turns back to the Premier Leaguewhich resumes this weekend.
Arsenal are in action against Leicester City on Sunday, and those Gunners players who are not currently travelling back from representing their countries were training on Wednesday.
Amid the rainy and cold autumnal conditions at Arsenal's London Colney base, first team regulars mixed with reserve and youth players in order to make up the numbers in the session.
Recognisable faces included Mesut Ozil, who has retired from international football amid a racism row with the German FA, and so was watching on as they suffered defeat in France that leaves Germany on the verge of Nations League relegation.
Among those training with him included first teamers Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal, neither of who were called up by Spain, and Matteo Guendouzi, who has established himself in the Arsenal XI since joining in the summer.
Alongside them were less recognisable names such as Karl Hein, Julio Pleguezuelo and Tolaji Bola - as well as manager Unai Emery.
In order to make up the numbers, Emery was photographed taking part in drills alongside his players, facing up to the likes of Ozil and Guendouzi in a ball control exercise.
Emery had a respectable playing career, mostly in the Spanish second division with the likes of Toledo, Racing Ferrol and Leganes, and showed he still remembers a few flicks and tricks when he pulls on his boots.
He will not be needed on Sunday however, as the full strength of the Arsenal team returns against Leicester, aiming to carry on their strong recent form.
Arsenal are on a run of nine wins in a row in all competitions, stretching back to August, which leaves them fourth in the Premier League, two points off the top.
