However, the deal collapsed after Liverpool raised concerns over an old knee injury. The Reds tried to renegotiate the fee, however, Lyon wouldn’t budge. And following his triumph in the World Cup with France, Fekir has since returned to action with the Ligue 1 side. But the playmaker looked downcast and dejected as he took part in media duties on Wednesday. Arsenal have tied Reiss Nelson down to a new long-term contract, but he will spend the next season out on loan after agreeing a move to the  Bundesliga  with Hoffenheim. The 18-year-old has proven himself a real prospect since breaking into the Arsenal first-team last season, making 16 appearances under  Arsene Wenger  during the last campaign. There were concerns he could seek a move away from the club with just one year left on his deal. Liverpool   confirm  they have agreed a new deal for Caoimhin Kelleher. The 19-year-old goalkeeper says he’s been given praise from manager Jurgen Klopp and could have a bright future with the Merseysiders. He said to the club’s official website:  “The manager has said I’m doing really well at the moment and to keep going the way I am. The contract is just a sign of how well I’ve been doing.” Kelleher joined Liverpool from Irish side Ringmahon in 2015 and has risen through the youth ranks to the fringes of the first-team. He’s racked up 17 appearances for the u18s and 12 for the u23s and could be in the first-team this season. Paris Saint-Germain have announced the signing of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Stoke City on a two-year deal. Aged 29, the Cameroonian international has played high-level football in Germany, gracing the shirts of Hamburg SV, Mainz 05 - where he worked under Thomas Tuchel between 2011 and 2014 - and Schalke 04. Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has said that the absence of Jamie Vardy will force Leicester City to change their style of play in Saturday’s Premier League clash between the two sides. Vardy remains suspended following his straight red card against Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month, leaving the Foxes without their key and top scorer. Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has provided updates on midfielder, Mesut Ozil’s fitness ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Cardiff City on Sunday. A 26-year-old suspected Internet fraudster, Jide Ajayi, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly abducting a 14-year-old pupil, identified only as Miracle. PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect met the victim on a social media platform, Facebook, from where they exchanged telephone numbers. The suspect was alleged to have gone to Miracle’s parent’s house on Thursday, August 23, from where he took away the Senior Secondary School one pupil. After five days together, operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team were reported to have swooped on him at his hideout on Gbeleyi Street, Idimu. At least seven people have been killed and several injured after a bus smashed head on into a truck on a major road in the US. One of the truck’s tyres is said to have blown, causing it to swerve into the Greyhound bus as it travelled in the opposite direction. The incident happened at about midday local time on Interstate 40 in New Mexico , near the Arizona border. Most of the 49 passengers on the bus, which was travelling from Albuquerque to Phoenix, have been taken to hospital. Injuries to the truck driver are not believed to be life threatening, police said. Shocking images from the scene show a truck on its side, cargo scattered across the highway, and the Greyhound bus upright, its front end obliterated. Not less than 41 Nigerian prostitutes were arrested in Weiba, Ghana around a place called Choice where several pubs operate at night. The arrest of the prostitutes followed a tip-off from some residents in the area who had commented over the "nuisance activities" of the prostitutes, which have turned the vicinity into a haven for drug peddlers and armed robbers. Due to these complaints received, the police laid surveillance and subsequently arrested 41 of the prostitutes, most of whom Chief Inspector Eninful said were Nigerians between 18 and 25 years. The Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) had earlier hinted of decriminalizing prostitution in the coming months. This was according to the commissioner, Joseph Wittal, who says, prostitution as a mode of work cannot be linked to a crime. "Decriminalizing prostitution is meant to rig the status book of offenses that seem to be targeting poverty.

Barcelona are confident they will sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United. The Catalan giants have, however, accepted that the deal won’t be completed this summer, according to Sport. Barca want to sign Pogba next year after a fallout between the player and his manager, Jose Mourinho. Manchester United board is reluctant to sell the player, who they signed back from Juventus for a then world record £89million. But the La Liga giants believe they have turned Pogba’s head and are convinced they will sign him next summer. Mourners have lined the streets of Detroit, Michigan to catch a glimpse of the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. The singer died from advanced pancreatic cancer on August 16 at age 76, but her body is now open to the public for a two-day viewing at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in her hometown. She was transported to the museum this morning (Tuesday) in a vintage white Lasalle and passed by hundreds of fans who had slept on the ground to see her and be the first to pay their respects to the singer.
