Liverpool get down to work ahead of Chelsea showdown following defeat by Blues in the Carabao Cup
Liverpool got down to work ahead of their showdown with Chelsea in the Premier League after the Blues knocked them out of the Carabao Cup.
Jurgen Klopp's side were beaten 2-1 by their rivals at Anfield in the third round of the competition on Wednesday night.
However the Reds were back on the training field on Thursday afternoon preparing for their second match against Chelsea in three days.
Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday looking to maintain their 100 per cent start in the league.
Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, who came on as second-half substitutes in the League Cup clash, were seen taking part in the session at Melwood.
Manager Jurgen Klopp was also spotted with the ball at his feet and coach Pep Ljinders was pictured attempting to emulate Daniel Sturridge's acrobatics from Wednesday night.
Sturridge opened the scoring against the Blues with an overhead kick before the visitors scored two goals in six minutes to seal the victory.
Liverpool currently top the Premier League table, but are just two points clear of third-placed Chelsea.
The Blues will be looking to bounce back from a 0-0 draw at West Ham last weekend.
